Die Arbeit ist in three Teilbereiche gegliedert und erläutert jeweils verschiedene Aspekte des Abonnenten Marketings. Im ersten Kapitel wird der Begriff Publikumszeitschriften enger abgegrenzt. Zudem wird ein Überblick, über die Inhalte und die Einteilung der Leserschaft der Zeitschriften, gegeben. Im zweiten Kapitel wird die Bedeutung des Abonnement, sowie dessen Vorteile für den Kunden und den Verlag aufgezeigt. Im Verlauf des dritten Kapitels werde ich ausführlich auf die Werbemaßnahmen zur Abonnentengewinnung eingehen. Dabei werden die unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten der persönlichen Ansprache, Direktwerbung und der Werbung durch klassische Medien betrachtet. Anschließend komme ich auf die Anreize zur Kundenreaktion zu sprechen, welche, wie das Gewinnspiel oder das Offerieren von Preisvorteilen, den Kunden auf das Produkt aufmerksam machen sollen. Der nächste Aspekt dieser Arbeit wird die Darstellung des Produktnutzens sein. Hauptsächlich wird hierbei die Betonung des Differenzierungsmerkmals eines Produktes besprochen, sowie die Bedeutung von Testimonials und neue redaktionelle Elemente aufgezeigt.
